UNPLUGGED ARUNDHATI

Pseudo-Secularist Arundhati Roy in her latest article in The Guardian (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/dec/12/mumbai-arundhati-roy), tried very hard to accommodate the perpetrators of Mumbai carnage and paint them as victims who are actually the manifestation of India’s injustice and atrocities against its Muslims in Gujarat and Kashmir. So as expected she blamed India and all its policies along with the Police, Army, Media and religious Hindu-right groups. At one point she equated Hafiz Saeed, who founded the Lashkar-e-Taiba with a unknown Babu Bajrangi of Ahmedabad, India, who was involved in the 2002 Gujarat riots and further RSS as dangerous as Lashkar-e-Taiba. For her, every action taken by India against these terrorist be it punishing the attacker of Parliament or more recently the Batla House incident were nothing more then cases of atrocities against the community. The article gives a impression as if Ms Roy is ashamed of being a Indian and more so being a Hindu. She ended her article with a note JUSTICE OR CIVIL WAR, as if a making a war cry and calling on the Muslims across to raise a civil war against the state of India.

devotee of love continues

In the golden valley
Through the cold mist
In the evenings when it drizzles
Along the path to the infinity...
Here my angel comes with all my dreams !!!

Holding red roses in bunches
Bearing in heart, all her love
Wearing a pretty smile on face
Along the path to the infinity...
Here my angel comes with all my dreams !!!

Not a single star in the dark sky
But her eyes guides my way
My heart is enchanted with her glimpse
Along the path to the infinity...
Here my angel comes with all my dreams !!!

No more its gonna be a cold night
As I will hold her in my arms
Now its a dream which has come true
along the path to the infinity...
Here my angels comes with all my dreams !!!

Which consoles my weary heart
You are the sun you are the moon
Never leaving my lonely sky
You are a wave in the far away ocean
Awaiting you I'm the golden beach
We were apart for so many seasons
Met again by chance in the valley of fate
The whole world is shocked to see
We are together again with the wish of God
All the tears will be vanished soon
We'll gain the eternal joy of love
You are my dream ; My sweetest dream
A dream which has come true

Intelligence Quotient (IQ) v/s Emotional Quotient (EQ)

Intelligence Quotient (IQ) v/s Emotional Quotient (EQ):
Are we Emotionally Intelligent? Or,
Do we still think (not feel) that IQ matters more than EQ?

What are Emotions?
Happiness, fear, anger, affection, shame, disgust, surprise, lust, sadness, elation, love, frustration, anxiety, failure, achievement etc.

Emotions and their blends:
Anger:
fury, outrage, resentment, annoyance, hostility.
Love: acceptance, friendliness, trust, kindness, infatuation.
Shame: guilt, remorse, humiliation, regret.
Fear: anxiety, nervousness, apprehension, terror.
Enjoyment: happiness, joy, relief, contentment, pleasure.
Sadness: Grief, sorrow, cheerlessness, gloom.
Surprise: Shock, astonishment, amazement wonder.

These emotions directly affect our day to day life.

Emotional Intelligence : is “the capacity for recognizing our own feelings and those of others, for motivating ourselves, and for managing emotions well in ourselves and in our relationships. Emotional intelligence describes abilities distinct from, but complementary to, academic intelligence.” Daniel Goleman (1998)

Are we giving EI education in schools /colleges?

  • Answer is NO. Our educational system gives stress on IQ and not on EQ. We are taught History, Hindi, English, Geography, Physics, anthropology, Botany, Computers, Medicine, Engineering etc.
  • We are not TAUGHT how to handle frustration, anxieties, stress, failure, depression, burnout, inferiority complexes, ego problems
  • We are not told to learn how to manage emotions i.e.; interaction, coordination, Adjustment, communication
  • We are expected to learn all these from our parents, peer group or other role models
  • At the later stages of our lives we are told to master emotional competencies to be successful.

IQ v/s EQ(Intelligence Quotient v/s Emotional Quotient)

  • The research shows that IQ can help you to be successful to the extent of 20 percent only in life. The rest of 80 percent success depends on your EQ
  • UCLA research indicates that only 7% of leadership success is attributable to intellect; 93% of success comes from trust, integrity, authenticity, honesty, creativity, presence, and resilience (cited in Cooper and Sawaf, 1996). (Read more benefits of 'Emotional Intelligence' in Comment No.4).

Antulay the Traitor

The minority affairs minister A R Antulay set off a major political row by demanding a probe into the shooting of Mumbai ATS chief Hemant Karkare in the 26/11 terror strikes which he linked to investigations into the alleged involvement of Hindu radicals in the Malegaon blast case, in the process advocated Pakistan`s propaganda.
The statement made by Mr Antulay was later supported by Ram Vilas Paswan (Says on TV … Antulay knows Mumbai well.)
Antulay is a living example of how low our politicians can go for votes. While trying to appease his minorities vote bank, Antulay clearly forgot what a serious damage his remark can inflict on India’s current diplomatic offensive against Pakistan. The Pakistani media is sure to give a huge coverage to this remark (highlighting it as a remark made by a senior minister), thereby giving the Pakistani government an effective tool to counter India’s charges and allegation.
I wish that this little bugger be hanged along with kasab in full public veiw.

introspection

WHO AM I ???
very simple down to earth but sometimes too complex to understand
i want to keep myself close but
always like to read the persons & about the persons whom i know- to understand them
i like to re-read lines & words they use -it helps me in better understanding of their nature
whenever i get any topic of my interest i read it twice or thrice
i want to keep myself & my opinion reserve but always my emotions fail me
i have gone through several pages on "terrorism & change "but tried to keep quiet
simply bcoz my opinion is little bit different, i am not in fever of any terrorist or their brutality but i ask myself whether change in politicians is suffice?
this time it was pakistani killing indian that time it was marathi killing north indian - every time a man was behind a man -why this is happening?
its not that only politician are responsible,
even our defence system is not so clean ,on boarder they take money on both sides & help invaders crossing boarders
Now i think every time its money & the big gap between poor & rich
poor loose moral because they have nothing to eat, rich loose moral because they have little to increase their status ................all play for money
i hav seen little ones from my own eyes sitting on railway lines & licking JUTTHE PATTALS just like dogs ----if any small one is so helpless anyone can mislead them for few ruppess only
for poverty this huge population & for this huge population illeteracy is responsible & so on......
change is indeed required but not only on one front but in the entire system
only then evrything will be absolute
these are so complex that here i want to mute myself for a while................
certainly its a very good platform to share the frustrations which is still alive & this platform is reminding me of my college friends as well --i'm remembering 1996 when we learnt computer & mailing so that we can have atleast a permanent address to communicate each other
i must stop my this biography here to respect all those who consider me intelligent but i myself never want to be an intellectual because i know my limitations .
My strength is to adapt my limitations to prove myself capable.
I always believe in saying sorry if i'm wrong & if i hurt someone, here also my uncoated sorry is for all those who feel hurted because my intention is not to hurt anyone.
bye

Intellectual Bankruptcy

Sometime it becomes difficult to move forward or evolve a new idea, in state of intellectual bankruptcy.
The purpose of the initiative was to encourage a move towards a approach where knowledge and experience can be shared willingly across the team. But poor communication, lack of information and knowledge sharing or inertia against new initiative are acting as impediments.

I need to know

It is well known that Kasab is a terrorist & he has been captured red handed & a lot of evidences are there against him. He himself has accepted his dreaded feat. When he is such a dreaded criminal, why is our system searching for a lawyer to defend him. And when none of our lawyers came forward or have refused(and why should they?) he is given a chance to ask the Pakistani govt for help. Do we want that he should be defended at all after he & his mates have taken so many innocent lives, which has been proven.
Can anybody help me know the system better.

Lesson-6 on CHANGE: “Keep renewing yourself.”

This prepares you to anticipate change and be ready for it when it comes.
Constantly ask yourself what new skills and competencies will be needed.
Begin working on them before it becomes necessary and you will have a
natural advantage. The greatest benefit of your education lies not only in
what you have learnt, but in working how to learn. Formal education is the
beginning of the journey of learning. Yet I do meet youngsters who feel that
they have already learnt all there is to learn. You have to constantly learn
about people and how to interact effectively with them. In the world of
tomorrow, only those individuals and organizations will succeed who have
mastered the art of rapid and on-going learning.

a billion hands.....

Dear Friend,It is time to act, and here we present a platform for change, a platform for us to come together and express some of the anger and anguish we felt over the last few days. Express some of the frustration and helplessness that we felt. And above all, a neutral platform for us to debate how each one of us can make a difference to this effect. Come, join hands at http://www.abillionhands.com/ , an initiative from Network18 that pledges to root out terror. And to ensure that these horrors don't get lost in endless political debates, and eventually forgotten.

Obama and Web 2.0

In the process of becoming the 44th president of America, Obama added a few facts in the pages of history by being the first black president elect (African ancestry) with a non-Christian middle name (Hussian).
He may not be the first president of the Internet age but the way he realized the power of Internet and strategically used the Web 2.0 to his advantage, perhaps no other politician has ever did.
Some interesting statistics from Obama's campaign as reported by Bloomberg.com:
Ø Obama has more than 2 million friends on the social-networking site Facebook.
Ø Obama's campaign videos on YouTube have been viewed 92 million times.
Ø Obama raised more than $600 million, much of it from online donations.
Ø Volunteers used Obama's website to organize a thousand phone-banking events in the last week of the race.

Obama's rise to the presidency will be studied for years to come as a textbook example of how technology can be used to redefine the rules of the games and how internet as a powerful tool brought a metamorphosis in world’s most powerful democracy by inspiring the hopes of millions of Americans.
Now its time for our leaders to realize the power of Internet and used it to touch the lives of billion plus Indians and bridge this digital divide existing in our country.

Lesson-5 on CHANGE: “Realize that fear of the unknown is natural.”

With change comes a feeling of insecurity. Many people believe
that brave people are not afflicted by this malady. The truth is different.
Every one feels the fear of unknown. Courage is not the absence of fear
but the ability to manage fear without getting paralyzed. Feel the fear,
but move on regardless.

When to burn the boats

Commitment takes courage. Many times we are content to stand on the sidelines and just watch as the game is being played. It’s safer there; but there’s no action and no opportunity for success, or growth.
Sometimes we just need to jump into it and see what happens. Sometimes we just need to burn the boats.
The ancient Greek warriors understood this idea. These Greeks possessed an unwavering attitude to victory and commitment. When the Grecian armies landed on their enemy’s shore, the first order the commanders gave was “Burn the boats.”
These commanders knew the power of motivation and necessity. With no boats to retreat to, the army had to be successful in order to survive. As the soldiers watched the boats burn, they knew there was no turning back – there would be no surrendering.
In our lives we need to do everything possible to make good decisions. We may not always be right. But if we follow a process of gathering the facts, analyzing the risks, and creating a viable plan based on the information available, more times than not we will make the proper decision.

Law of the pickle barrel

In its simplest form the law states that a cucumber placed in a pickle barrel is more likely to become a pickle than to talk the current residents into again becoming cucumbers.

The barrel’s allure is quite enticing and offers

  • A relaxed life style (little is expected),
  • Reduced stress,
  • Their skills will shine relative to their counterpart,
  • and it is a chance to get experience.

Sadly many one of us become quite comfortable, and after a few years tend to smell and taste a little like… a pickle. Invariably the first step is to get out of the pickle barrel, or better yet, don't ever get in the barrel.

Lesson-4 on CHANGE: “Do not allow routines to become chains."

For many of us the routine we have got accustomed to obstructs
change. Routines represent our own zones of comfort. There is a
sense of predictability about them. They have structured our time and
even our thought in a certain way. While routines are useful, do not
let them enslave you. Deliberately break out of them from time to time.

late but not so late

dear team sorry for joining late to u all.

A Tribute to the Martyrs

Pay tribute to those who lost their lives,Remember - change starts with the individual. Each one of us matters!

Mind Without Fear

As the fear keeps rising and the crisis deepens with every hour, uncertainty ushers in a feeling of hopelessness, these line by Gurudev Rabindra Nath Tagore gives me strength

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been broken up
into fragments by narrow domestic walls;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason
has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action---
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.

Lesson-3 on CHANGE: “Always look at the opportunities that change represents.”

Managing change has a lot to go with our own attitude towards it. It is
proverbial half-full or half empty glass approach. For every problem
that change represents, there is an opportunity lurking in disguise
somewhere. It is up to you to spot it before someone else does.

Lesson-2 on CHANGE: “Anticipate change even when things are going right."

Most people wait for something to go wrong before they think of change. It
is like going to the doctor for a check up only when you are seriously sick
or thinking of maintaining your vehicle only when it breaks down. The
biggest enemy of future success is past success. When you succeed, you
feel that you must be doing something right for it to happen. But when
the parameters for success change, doing the same things may or may
not continue to lead to success. Guard against complacency all the time.
Complacency makes you blind to the early signals from the environment
that something is going wrong.

Lesson-1 on CHANGE: “Be alert for the first signs of change.”

Change descends on every One equally; it is just that some realize it faster.
Some changes are sudden but many others are gradual. While sudden
changes get attention because they are dramatic, it is the gradual changes
that are ignored till it is too late. You must have all heard of story of the frog
in boiling water. If the temperature of the water is suddenly increased, the
frog realizes it and jumps out of the water. But if the temperature is very
slowly increased, one degree at a time, the frog does not realize it till it boils
to death. You must develop your own early warning system, which warns
you of changes and calls your attention to it. In the case of change, being
forewarned is being forearmed.

I enjoyed reading this

God was in the process of creating the universe.
And he was explaining to his subordinates
"Look everything should be in balance".
For example, after every 10 deer there should be a lion.
Look here my fellow angels, here is the country of the United States.
I have blessed them with prosperity and money.
But at the same time I have given them insecurity and tension....
And here is Africa.
I have given them beautiful nature.
But at the same time, I have given them climatic extremes.
And here is South America.
I have given them lots of forests.
But at the same time, I have given them lesser land so that they would have to cut off the forests...
So you see fellows, everything should be in balance.
One of the angels asked...
"God, what is this extremely beautiful country here?"
God said....... "Ahah...that is the crown piece of all.
" INDIA "
My most precious creation.
It has understanding and friendly People. Sparkling streams and serene mountains.
A culture which speaks of the great tradition that they live.
Technologically brilliant and with a heart of gold.....
The angel was quite surprised:
"But god you said everything should be in balance."
God replied --
"Look at the neighbours I gave them

Wake-up IV

I think that we have been unnecessarily blaming the political system/politicians of our country, because what happened in Mumbai or in other parts of the country are the manifestations of our own deeds.Today what we need in India is a systemic reform, which starts from us.We should start participating in our political process more actively, without leaving everything at the mercy of our political leaders, and this starts with electing leaders on the basis of there credentials and not on the basis of there cast, creed, religion or party. We need be more vigilant towards the threat perception. Further a bureaucratic reform is also a need of the hour,so that our bureaucrats also became answerable to the public.

plz help me out

i'm unable to understand that why on this blog AM is appearing as PM & vice-versa i.e PM as AM.
can anyone help me plz

Section 49-O of the Constitution of INDIA.

Did you know that there is a system in our constitution, as per the 1969 act, in section "49-O" that a person can go to the polling booth, confirm his identity, get his finger marked and convey the presiding election officer that he doesn't want to vote anyone!Yes such a feature is available, but obviously these seemingly notorious leaders have never disclosed it. This is called "49-O". Why should you go and say "I VOTE NOBODY"... because, in a ward, if a candidate wins, say by 123 votes, and that particular ward has received "49-O" votes more than 123, then that polling will be cancelled and will have to be re-polled. Not only that, but the candidature of the contestants will be removed and they cannot contest the re-polling, since people had already expressed their decision on them. This would bring fear into parties and hence look for genuine candidates for their parties for election. This would change the way, of our whole political system... it is seemingly surprising why the election commission has not revealed such a feature to the public....Seems to be a wonderful weapon against corrupt parties in India... show your power, expressing your desire not to vote for anybody, is even more powerful than voting...So either vote, or vote not to vote (vote 49-O)

wake- up

These heartless politicians are playing politics over the sacrifice of of our brave soldiers who have lost there live saving us and even they have no respect for there sacrifice.....The CM of Kerla has said in his statement that....Main to Major उन्नीकृष्णन की घर इसलिए गया क्युकी वोह एक सिपाही था...अगर वोह शहीद नही होता तो उसके घर कुत्ता भी नही जाता....see the language these people use.....deputy CM of Maharashtra said...bade bade shehro mein ek aadh aisi choti batein ho hi jati hain.....(he should ashame of his statement) the death of more than 250 civilians and the brave soldiers looks CHOTI BAAT to these politicians. Now its time to decide that how long we will tolerate these coward, heartless, irresponsible, corrupt, criminal politicians? Is the resignation(istifa) only a solution ?Should we wait for another attack, and only then we will stand up against it?Other countries are supporting us to save our nation against terrorism.look at the statement of US elect president Barac Obama..Sovereign nations have the right to protect themselves, US president-elect Barack Obama said on Monday, when asked if India could followthe same policy he advocated during his election campaign — of bombing terrorist camps in Pakistan if there was actionable evidence and Islamabad refused to act on it. In fact, Obama disclosed that the Mumbai massacre topped the agenda of the new national security team at its first meeting Monday morning ahead of the public roll-out. ''This morning, we met to discuss the situation in Mumbai and some of the challenges that we face in the months and years ahead,'' he revealed, indicating that the South Asia crisis would be among the first issues to occupy his administration as it takes office. The president-elect referred repeatedly to the tragedy at his press conference and said he had spoken to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to tell him that the United States is with India in this dark hour. ''In the world we seek, there is no place for those who kill innocent civilians to advance hateful extremism. And I am confident that India’s great democracy is more resilient than killers who would tear it down,'' he said. Obama reiterated his stand that there was only one president at a time in the U.S as he trod a delicate line in setting any new policy. But he appreciated the actions taken by the Bush administration and keeping him informed about it. ''What I can say unequivocally is that both myself and my team are absolutely committed to eliminating terrorism,'' he said. ''We cannot tolerate attacks based on twisted ideology of hate...we will bring the full force of our military, economic and diplomatic power to defeat this. I will be monitoring the situation closely.''
then for what we are waiting......

French pharma Sanofi-Aventis acquires Zentiva for $2.6 billion news
23 September 2008
French pharmaceuticals company, Sanofi-Aventis SA has won the approval of the board of Czech generic drug maker Zentiva NV for its takeover offer after raising its bid to about €1.8 billion ($2.6 billion).

Sanofi-Aventis had bought its stake in Zentiva in 2006 making its first acquisition since the French company was formed out of the August 2004 takeover of Aventis by rival Sanofi-Synthelabo.
In March 2008, it agreed to buy a majority stake in the generic drug business of Turkey's Eczacibasi for €460 million ($729 million).
Zentiva makes and sells generic drugs in Central and Eastern Europe, including products for pain, cardiovascular diseases and disorders of the central nervous system.
As part of its growth strategy, Sanofi-Aventis is 1expanding its presence into emerging markets that are characterised by high growth, low and medium disposable income and affordable pharmaceutical products, the group said in a statement Monday.
The acquisition is the most recent case of consolidation in the generic drug industry.
Teva Pharmaceuticals is buying Barr Pharmaceuticals, and Daichi Sankyo has acquired Ranbaxy Laboratories.

Symbion

Sanofi-aventis to acquire Symbion Holdings for $544 million news
21 July 2008
French drug maker Sanofi-Aventis today said it had signed a binding agreement to acquire Australia's largest distributor of vitamin supplements, Symbion CP Holdings Pty Limited, from its owner Primary Health Care Ltd for A$560 million ($544 million / approximately Rs2325 crore).
Symbion manufactures, markets and distributes nutraceuticals (vitamins and mineral supplements) and over the counter brands throughout Australia and New Zealand. It has a strong portfolio of premium brands including Natures Own, Cenovis, Bio-organics, Golden Glow and Microgenics and is the market leader, with an estimated 21 per cent market share.
Symbion Consumer's sales amounted to around A$190 million in 2007.
''The purchase of Symbion Consumer provides Sanofi-Aentis in Australia with a leading market share in a rapidly growing category,'' said Olivier Charmeil, senior vice president, pharmaceutical operations, Asia Pacific, Sanofi-Aventis. "The acquisition will sustain Sanofi-Aventis Australia growth through products portfolio widening, increased pharmacy presence and access to new channels, and will create strong synergies with our existing pharmaceutical activities. Additionally, this acquisition will represent for sanofi-aventis a platform to launch a nutraceutical offering throughout the Asia / Pacific region'', he concluded.

Wake-up

Another heinous attack on humanity and close to 200 lives are lost. A two year old "Mosse" became orphan on his birthday, many sisters lost there brothers and mother lost her young and brave son (Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, martyred while engaging terrorists). But for all of us, it was just another incident.
So what if our forces lost 20 of there best man and scores of innocent civilian were massacred. For our politicians human life has no value infront of vote bank politics. When our brave heroes were sacrificing there lives to protect us, these politicians were busy scoring brownie points over each other so as to win the next elections. That's why our esteemed leader of the opposition in parliament was so busy campaigning that he couldn't`t spare a hour or so for a all party meeting called by the PM to discuss terrorism.Seriousness of there intentions were clear when deputy CM of the affected state said"bade shahron mein aise ek adh hadse hote rahte hain. Woh 5,000 logon ko marne aye the lekin humne kitna kum nuksan hone diya".
Further the apathy of our leaders were evident when Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh accompanied hot-shot film maker Ram Gopal Varma and his actor son to the site of terror, so that this filmmaker could get a superhit story for his next film.
Our government has completely bent there knees infront of these terrorist, they are so henpecked that they cannot take a minnow state like Bangladesh forget Pakistan, who are supporting these merchants of terror.
Time has come for us to wake from this slumber and take things in our own hand, time has come to change this crippling political system. Time has come to make these governments and political parties accountable to the public

Dream, Dare & Achieve

You know a dream is like a river,
ever changing as it flows
And a dreamer's just a vessel
that must follow where it goes.
And I will sail my vessel'till the river runs dry
like a bird upon the wind, these waters are my sky.
I'll never reach my destination if I never try
So I will sail my vessel'till the river runs dry.
Too many times we stand aside
& let the water slip away
To what we put off'till tomorrow
has now become today
So don't you sit upon the shore
and say you are satisfied.
Choose to chance the rapids
and dare to dance the tides.

Philosophy Lesson

A professor stood before his Philosophy 101 class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full? They agreed that it was.So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He then asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous - - yes.The professor then produced two cans of beer from under the table and proceeded to pour the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed."Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things - - your family, your partner, your health, your children, your friends, your favorite passions - - things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.""The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, your car. The sand is everything else - - the small stuff.""If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for your life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out dancing. Play another 18. There will always be time for me to go to work, clean the house, give a dinner party and fix the disposal.""Take care of the golf balls first -- the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand." One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the beer represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of beers!

Credit Card

Credit cards are one of the few products which have dedicated users and aggressive critics. While those who use it efficiently swear by its comfort, those who have been put to discomfort, don’t miss an opportunity to blame the plastic money for their financial problems. Are credit cards then a product which can land you in a mess eventually? The answer, obviously is NO provided you understand its nitty- gritty. In fact, just understand the fine print associated with your credit card and chances are that you will have lesser opportunity to make it a scapegoat for your financial troubles.
There are two important dates for every credit card user as the product’s entire dynamics revolves around these two dates. One is the statement date and the other is the payment date. As a card user, if you manage to remember the statement date, it will do a lot of good as you can effectively use your credit card. As the name states, this is the date on which the card company generates a statement of all your transactions. Hence, the credit card bill amount will be the sum of all transactions made from previous statement date to the latest statement date. Now, why should you remember the statement date?
Let us assume that the statement date of your credit card is 10th of every month and payment date is 30th of the same month. If you make a purchase on your credit card on 9th or 10th, chances are that you will be required to make the payment during the same month (as per payment date). That would mean you can enjoy a free credit period of only a maximum of 20 days. Instead, if you had made the purchase on 11th of the month, your purchase transaction would be after the statement date of the same month and hence would get reflected in the statement of the following month. Since the payment date is on 30th, you would effectively enjoy a free credit period of 50 days! Now, such smart shopping can be done at least for big ticket purchases though you can’t really plan your restaurant or movie ticket bills. However, a good memory of statement date surely will come in handy as you can make a better use of your card.
Even if you are unable to remember the remember statement date, make sure to remember the payment date as missing this date with respect to this date can land you in trouble. Credit card companies are pretty severe on defaults and can slap you with hefty charges. As you would have noticed, the interest rate on credit card outstanding amount is pretty high and in recent times, has gone up to as high as 50%. In addition, card companies also charge late payment fees if the statement amount is not paid on time. For those who struggle to remember the due (payment) date, ECS (electronic clearing service) is the best option. Generally, credit card companies will debit the bank account on the payment date. If the account does not have the required amount, the minimum balance would be debited from the savings account.
And finally, make it a habit to keep your credit card spends according to your ability to repay. Sure, credit card allows you the flexibility of paying only 5% of the statement amount but the flexibility has a huge price as the card company will slap an interest on the entire amount even if you pay only a portion. This interest would be as high as over 4%on a monthly basis and if you take into account other charges, the final penalty will be over 50% per annum. All this of course, can be avoided if you get into the habit of clearing the entire statement amount by the payment date. That will also help you realise that credit card is a product which allows you to enjoy free credit for a certain period

After all the rumors & month closing lets go through this; a nice one.

Hope you like this...
Once PVNR (PV Narasimha Rao), L.K.Advani and Laloo Prasad Yadav weretravelling in an autorickshaw. They met with an accident and all three ofthem died.Yama Raja was waiting for this moment at the doorstep of death. He asks PVNR and Advani to go to HEAVEN.But, for Laloo, Yama had already decided that he should be sent to HELL.Laloo is not at all happy with this decision. He asks Yama as to why this discrimination is being made. All the three ofthem had served the public. Similarly, all took bribes, all misused publicpositions, etc. Then why the differential treatment? He felt that there should be a formal test or an objective evaluation beforea decision is made; and should not be just based on opinion or pre-conceivednotions.Yama agrees to this and asks all the three of them to appear for an Englishtest.PVNR is asked to spell " INDIA " and he does it correctly.Advani is asked to spell " ENGLAND " and he too passes. It is Laloo's turn and he is asked to spell " CZECHOSLOVAKIA ".Laloo protests that he doesn't know English. He says this is not fair and that he was given a tough question and thusforced to fail with false intent.Yama then agrees to conduct a written test in Hindi (to give another chanceassuming that Laloo should at least feel that Hindi would provide an equalplatform for all three).PVNR is asked to write "KUTTA BOLA BHOW BHOW". He writes it easily andpasses.Advani is asked to write "BILLY BOLI MYAUN MYAUN". He too passes.Laloo is asked to write "BANDAR BOLA GURRRRRR.... ."Tough one. He fails again.Laloo is extremely unhappy.Having been a student of history (which the other two weren't),he nowrequested for all the 3 to be subjected to a test in historyYama says OK but this would be the last chance and that he would not takeany more tests.PVNR is asked: "When did India get Independence ?". He replied "1947" andpassed.Advani is asked "How many people died during the independence struggle?".He gets nervous. Yama asked him to choose from 3 options: 100,000 or 200,000or 300,000.Advani catches it and says 200,000 and passes. It's Laloo's turn now.''''''''''''''''''''''''
'Yama asks him to give the Name and Address of each of the 200,000 who diedin the struggle.Laloo accepts defeat and agrees to go to HELL.Moral of the story: IF YOUR MANAGEMENT HAS DECIDED TO SCREW YOU, THERE IS NO ESCAPE.

Unreasonable

We are a bunch of unreasonable men, who tried succesfully to adapt the world our way.Because a reasonable man adapts himself to the world; but the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.
Hope we remain unreasonable and continue our dream run next year also.

Sandy keep the flag HIGH!!!

Inderjeet Banga says...

Sandy (I heard/read this self adopted name somewhere by Sandeep Sarkar) is flag bearer of sporting activities in our Team. I appriciate his sprit and really wish to join all games with him [being Jack of all games ;-)]sadly all these activities happen on Sundays and Sundays are big breathers for me from driving 100 miles.

But I promise to my Team that I will still drive and reach you all on any given Sunday if there are few more participents in these activities.

Sandy keep the flag HIGH!!!

MDs Trophy

Today there was the first trial match of cricket for the MDs Trophy. The only crusader from Team Delhi was Mr Sandeep Sarkar. After the Delhi Half Marathon, this is the next battle ground for Sandeep.
You can see him in action in all the games like Cricket,Chess and Carrom.I really admire the kind of energy he exhibits.
Our female colleagues wanted to participate in Cricket, but i believe Cricket was not there for the females. So may be organisers can keep that in mind next time.
