After MoS for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor`s Holy Cows & Cattle Class controversy, we (including Congress leaders) heard some alien words like Twitter and Tweets. So to enlighten myself and my poor leaders about this Twitter business, I did a little research.
Wiki says” Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the author's profile page and delivered to the author's subscribers who are known as followers. Senders can restrict delivery to those in their circle of friends or, by default, allow open access.” Twitter is a privately funded startup from San Francisco, USA; it was build around a simple idea of being able to know what our friends were doing. The result of using Twitter to stay connected with friends, relatives, and coworkers is that we have a sense of what others are up to, but we are not expected to respond to any updates unless we want to. This means we can step in and out of the flow of information as it suits us and it never queues up with increasing demand of our attention.
Now that we know a little about Twitter is, so lets start Tweeting at: http://twitter.com/
