Identifying Intelligences and Abilities For Workplace Success

In the 21st century workplace, it is dangerous to define our work by the tasks that make up our job description. If those tasks are no longer required when things change (as they inevitably will) then WE may no longer be required.

                  To future proof our career, you need to understand ourself as a person with certain basic strengths that can be utilized in many different ways in many different situations.
                  This is why talent is one of the key concepts that we need to base our future career around. In a rapidly changing environment, an employer - rather than worrying about formal qualifications - is more likely to want someone who has demonstrated certain talents. These talents, and abilities, are a crucial part of what we can offer to any employer, and to the way our career will unfold in the future.

Modern psychological theory suggests there are at least eight separate human intelligences,

Success in our future career or area we are currently work-in depends on how we package these intelligences and abilities for maximum benefit. By centering our career or field of work- around our dominant intelligences and abilities, we stand the greatest chance to succeed. Also our individual mix of intelligences, abilities and interests is what determines the fields of work we are best suited to.
